Today is a great day! I could reach out to my parents. I could talk to them over the phone. They finally got the electricity back after 5 hours of blackout. Now the 4-7 hour blackouts are quite a normal daily routine in Ukraine.

The missile attacks on energy infrastructure of Ukraine are barbarous. Russia has destroyed more than 50% of Ukraine’s electricity generation capacity. 73% of large thermal power plants are out of operation due to severe damage and destruction. You might ask me: how then do people survive in Ukraine? Well, generators help a lot. Most stores and businesses run on them during the blackouts. I used to send candles over to Ukraine so that my parents could have some light during the long dark, winter evenings. Many Ukrainians abroad still buy generators and send them to their families and friends in Ukraine. We help each other around the world as much as we can with all possible support and prayers.

Today I ask all of you to pray for Ukraine. Pray for Ukrainians abroad and those who live in Ukraine. Pray for our soldiers. Pray for our children. Pray for peace.
